Schools and recruitment agencies have a shared responsibility to ensure students are protected. Nowhere is this more important than in the recruitment and vetting of work seekers that have contact with young people, therefore, we strive to ensure only suitably qualified and thoroughly vetted staff gain access to schools by building good safeguarding practices into our procedures and daily practice. Recruit Mint Education are currently going through the process to become accredited by the REC which gives us the mark of quality allowing us to boast that we strive to deliver a layer of protection for schools.
By joining the REC we sign up to the REC Code of Professional Practice. Wanting to deliver more than standard education compliance we have also applied for the REC Audited Education accreditation which provides a sought after kitemark for recruitment agencies in the education sector by having a robust benchmark for best practice and that’s exactly what the REC Audited Education provides.
Audited Education It is led by a steering group which includes the ASCL, NAHT, NUT, Local Authorities and the LGA. Recruit Mint Education will shortly be subject to an audit from the REC which covers both teaching and non-teaching staff and goes beyond just compliance, requiring us to demonstrate key safeguarding legislation and best practice and that we operate best practice in areas such as customer service, staff development, diversity and client management. We have already passed the REC’s Compliance Test to gain entry to the REC and are required to pass it again every two years to retain membership.
